Asian Games 2026

Elavenil Valarivan led India's opening day at the 2026 Asian Games with double silver in the women's 10m air rifle team and individual events. Her success and mixed martial artist Suchika Tariyal help put India 10th in the early medal standings.

India has called up pacer Yash Thakur to replace Harshit Rana, who suffered a rectus femoris strain. The move comes alongside the fitness clearance of Jasprit Bumrah.
