The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Launches November 5

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is now facing unprecedented demand, with pre-orders for the 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 selling out within hours of their release, according to PC Guide. Scalpers have since begun reselling the console on marketplaces like eBay for up to $799.99, significantly exceeding its $519.99 MSRP. The limited-time edition, which features a green and gold color scheme, a black and gold Triforce-themed dock, and a Pro Controller, saw its price increase by $20 compared to the standard Switch 2 model. This hike took effect on September 1 in the United States, Canada, and Europe, with retailers reporting rapid depletion of stock.

The remake itself, originally slated for a November 5 release, has been delayed to November 11, according to PC Guide. This shift coincides with the console’s October 29 launch, positioning it as a key component of Nintendo’s 40th-anniversary celebrations. The game’s physical copies, which include textured foil cover art, remain priced $10 higher than digital versions, with an MSRP of $59.99 for digital and $69.99 for physical releases. Preorders for the game and related merchandise, including Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo figures, remain active, with the latter expected in 2027.

A separate Nintendo Direct on September 9 revealed additional projects tied to the anniversary, according to Eurogamer.net. Among them, FromSoftware’s *The Duskbloods* received a confirmed release date, while *Monster Hunter Wilds* will launch on December 4, 2026, followed by its Ascendance expansion in 2027. *Final Fantasy Resonance*, the third installment in the franchise’s remake series, is set for April 8, 2027, with *Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion* arriving later the same day. *Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Definitive Edition* will launch on February 25, 2027, offering enhanced visuals and a new Calamity mode.

The Direct also highlighted updates to existing titles, such as the addition of four-player split-screen support for *Star Fox 64* and the release of *Meccha Chameleon*, a team-based hide-and-seek game. *The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered* will arrive on September 29, featuring mouse and motion controls, alongside its expansion *Songs of the Past*. Meanwhile, *Pokémon Pokopia*’s second expansion will introduce fashion-themed accessories and new Pokémon in late 2026.

Nintendo’s decision to delay the Ocarina of Time remake to November 11 places it in direct competition with *Grand Theft Auto VI*, which is set for November 19.
